Uncle Tom’s Cabin, also known as Life Among the Lowly is an andti slavery novel written by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Published in 1852, the novel created a big impact on the attitude of Americans toward slavery. It’s effect rose so much that it was later said even by the great president Abraham Lincoln when he met Stowe, “So this is the little lady who wrote the book that made this great war” [1].

Uncle Tom’s Cabin was the best-seller of the 19th century and is credited as the second best-seller of its century after the Bible. In its first year, the novel sold 300,000 copies in the U.S. alone. The book has been translated into at least twenty-three languages.
